HTC is Reportedly Working on its own Mobile OS for China

The launch date for the HTC Mobile Operating System has been set for the end of 2013. Meanwhile, the spanking new OS will work hand in glove with what has become known as the Chinese version of Twitter. We are talking of none other than Sina Weibo. Some of the smart phones are already being road tested.?

The chairwoman of HTC has been engaged in negotiations with the Chinese Government regarding this issue. The building up of an ecosystem of electronic and telecommunication networks in the Chinese sphere of influence is paramount. The main goal seems to be the reduction of dependency on Western companies. Rather, local and indigenous talent is being sought to provide the necessary skills.?

There are a few hitches on the way. One is the fact that HTC comes under the umbrella of Google?s Open Handset Alliance. Therefore, it will have to stick to some of the requirements that are expected of it from Google?s side. HTC has also been fighting for its life.?

A series of financial blows led to its quarterly reports to show dismal results. For HTC to multiply its products into spinoffs is the goal for now. This is to be expected since it would probably lead to growth and progress. Only by taking a catastrophe and converting it into an opportunity can HTC make its future prospects secure.
